Located in the Nort and North West of Madagascar, this trip allows us to experience different types of sites, from rainforest, dry deciduous one, to the beaches and diving. Like the other parts of the Country Diana region is as well rich on Biodiversity, landscape, and culture.
Flight to Diego Suarez. On arrival drive to Joffreville on the side of Montagne d’Ambre.
Before dinner, short walk around the surrounding to meet some of the local nocturnal wildlife: Montagne d’Ambre Mouse Lemur, Giant Leaf-Tailed Gecko, some Frog species…
After Breakfast, short drive to the National Park. The forest is home to some really spectacular types of wildlife: some Stump-toed Frog species, the Montagne d’Ambre Leaf Chameleon, Mossy leaf-tailed Gecko, Lemurs, Montagne d’Ambre Ring-tailed mongoose, endemic Bird species, different orchid species…
Picnic lunch. Drive back to the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and night at the lodge.
After Breakfast, boarding and drive to more discover the other part of the North of Madagascar.
After a couple of hours’drive, arrive at Tsingy rouge, even more spectacular and one Brain is not enough to admire everything. The said Tsingy Rouge is made of red marl. The soft marl is carved by the rain drops to get the shape of a cone of about 1 to 2metres’ high, the scenery is fabulous.
Lunch at a local restaurant then continue to Andrafiamena. Check in at the Black Lemur Camp which is a proper Lodge despite its name.
In the evening, short walk to meet some of the local nocturnal Lemurs, and sleeping Chameleons.
After Breakfast, forest walk to meet the very localized and rare Black Sifaka Lemur and discover a special type of dry vegetation: the tsingy forest.
Lunch at the Lodge then drive to Ankarana.
Breakfast then short drive to the Ankarana National Park. Walk through a deciduous dry forest with Baobabs, continue to admire a spectacular view of the Tsingy, the limestone is razor sharped and from above offer a look of petrified forest. Many of them are strangely shaped. The highlight of the walk is the crossing of a hanging bridge over a deep canyon. We may meet Lemurs on the way.
Lunch at the restaurant. Afternoon rest.
Dinner and night at the lodge.
Breakfast then drive to Ankify port. Stop on the way at a cocoa and vanilla plantation.
Boarding in an outboard boat at Ankify for an hour boat ride to Nosy Be. Arrival at Hellville Port and transfer to the Lodge.
Lunch and Afternoon Rest. Dinner and Night at the Lodge.
After Breakfast, boarding and Boat Ride to Nosy Komba (45 min) then little hike to the local Reserve through the Nosy Komba Handicraft Avenue. Meeting with the black Lemur and a bit of wildlife (boa, Tortoises…).
Continue to Nosy Tanikely Marine Park for some snorkelling. Picnic Lunch.
Boat Ride back to the Lodge in the afternoon (45min).
Dinner and Night at the Lodge.
After Breakfast, boarding and Boat Ride to Nosy Sakatia (20 min).
Little hike through the Island to meet the few villagers and see their everyday life. Snorkelling. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Boat ride back to Nosy be in the afternoon.
NB : Depending on the season, Day 7 and 8 could be spent for whale shark or whale watching.
